This is the second of our virtual field trips. Imagine a day touring important roman military sites in the north of England with your class. If you include Hardknott Fort, Birdoswald, Hadrians Wall and the Arbeia reconstruction that's a round trip of about 470 miles from our base in Liverpool! Not to mention all the planning and risk assessment you'd have to do beforehand.
Over the past two years we have visited a number of roman military sites and then used a 3d modelling program to render a fort based on hundreds of photographs.
These photographs and the model go together to make a unique presentation for your students.
What was it like inside a real Roman fort?
